Doors Open Ottawa 2012 Portes ouvertes
Held annually on the first weekend in June, Doors Open Ottawa is a celebration of our architectural heritage when historic and architecturally significant buildings open their doors to the public free of charge. Each year visitors hear first-hand the remarkable stories that have shaped the National Capital region. As Ottawa’s largest heritage and architectural event, Doors Open has recorded nearly 500,000 visits since it began in 2002.

All new volunteers are required to attend an information and registration session where they are able to select and register for a building where they would like to help out. In 2012, we will be hosting information and registration sessions in May. Help make this event a great success. Volunteer!

Portes ouvertes Ottawa a lieu annuellement la première fin de semaine de juin qui est consacrée à l'appréciation de notre patrimoine architectural au cours de laquelle des immeubles d'importance historique et architecturale ouvriront gratuitement leurs portes à la population. Chaque année, les visiteurs sont en première ligne pour découvrir des histoires remarquables qui ont contribué à l’essor de la région de la capitale nationale. La plus importante manifestation patrimoniale et architecturale à Ottawa, presque 500 000 visiteurs y ont participé depuis son lancement en 2002.

Tout nouveau bénévole doit participer à une séance d'information et d’inscription où on a l’occasion de sélectionner et de s’inscrire à divers édifices où on souhaite aider. Nous offriront des sessions d'information et d'inscription en mai 2012. Appuyez-nous à faire de cet événement un grand succès – devenez bénévole!
Heritage Day 2012 Journée du patrimoine
Heritage Day: Every year, on the third Tuesday in February, we celebrate Heritage Day to highlight Ottawa’s immense historical, cultural and natural heritage.

Recruitment for Heritage Day starts in September of each year.

Journée du Patrimoine : Chaque année, le troisième mardi de février, nous célébrons la Journée du patrimoine pour mettre en évidence l’immense patrimoine historique, culturel et naturel d'Ottawa. Découvrez toute sa beauté, la diversité et la vitalité.

DOO 2012 Registrations sessions (le texte français suit) Doors Open Ottawa is holding a first registration session for our veteran volunteers on Wednesday, May 9th, 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, Colonel By Room. The remaining two sessions, which are open to both the veteran volunteers and the volunteer applicants, will take place on Tuesday, May 15th at 6:30, Colonel By Room and Wednesday, May 16th at 6:30 p.m. Honeywell Room also at City Hall. Please confirm your attendance giving the date with Daniele Hamonic at daniele.hamonic@ottawa.ca If you are interested in helping out at any of these sessions please contact me either at daniele.hamonic@ottawa.ca or at 613-580-2424 ext.19042. Portes ouvertes Ottawa tiendra la première séance d'inscription pour nos anciens bénévoles le mercredi 9 mai prochain à l'Hôtel de Ville. Les deux autres sessions, ouvertes aux anciens bénévoles et les nouveaux candidats, auront lieu le mardi 15 mai et le mercredi 16 mai. Vous recevrez une invitation plus détailée avec l'heure et l'emplacement de chacune à l'Hôtel de Ville.
