The Alviso Adobe staff is looking for volunteers to serve as docents, providing guided tours of Francisco Alviso's restored adobe home, as well as replicas of the bunkhouse and milking barn of the former Meadowlark Dairy.

Clerical Assistance
The Alviso Adobe staff seeks one volunteer with experience using Powerpoint to help the City Naturalist create presentations for the nature and historical programs held at the Adobe and surrounding areas. Experience with electronic newsletters is highly desirable. Must enjoy working in a non-traditional setting. Work hours would be by arrangement during facility operating days (Wednesday-Sunday).

Monthly Book Buddy Program

The Pleasanton Senior Center is seeking adults 50 years of age or older who share a love of reading to children. We are currently recruiting five to six volunteers for this wonderful, intergenerational program.  Each adult Book Buddy is paired with a second grade student throughout the school year.  Adults and students read for one hour on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the Pleasanton Senior Center. The program begins in September and continues through May.

 

 

An information meeting will be held at the Pleasanton Senior Center on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 3:30pm.
