Pre-Run Activities

Team & Individual T-shirt Pick-Up

Position Description: 

Volunteers will register individuals and teams, hand out t-shirts and packages, and accept donations. This is generally a fast-paced and fun event, you should be comfortable working with money.


When: 

Friday, October 3, 2014 (2 Shifts)

 - 10:00am - 2:00pm

  - 2:00pm - 6:00pm


Where:

Running Room, Southpointe Common, 169-2004 50 Ave, Red Deer


Training: 

Training will be provided day of. Volunteers should have basic information about the Run, including date and basic FAQs.

Route

Route Marshal

You will be providing direction to participants to ensure safety. You must be able to stand for a reasonable length of time, and walk to your 'location' on the route.

Start/Finish Line Marshal

You will be providing direction to participants at the start and finish lines. You will also be ensuring safety at these points for participants. You should be able to provide directions, have strong communication skills and a loud voice would be an asset. You must be able to stand for the duration of the event.

Water Station

You will be providing water to participants at the half way point. Interpersonal skills, and standing for the duration of the Run are required.

Run Day Registration

Registration

You will be accepting registration and donation forms from participants. This is a fast-paced, high-volume, and detail orientated role which requires you to have strong customer service skills, and experience handling money.

Site

CBCF Booth Attendant

You will be working in the CBCF tent providing Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation information to participants. Information may be in the form of brochures, pamphlets and give aways.

Food Tent

You will hand out food and refreshments to participants. This role can involve some lifting during set-up and tear down, customer service skills and directing flow of people will be required. This environment may contain products with nuts.

Survivor Engagement Area

You will be meeting and greeting survivors and taking names for the Survivor Tent Door Prize. You will need excellent communication skills.

You will also be assisting participants who would like to write a special message on the Wall of Hope. This is a very important and emotional position, strong interpersonal skills are required.
