Fitness Activities - Basketball Coach

Activity Summary:

We are looking for a volunteer interested in coaching and assisting our Basketball Program. If you have the love for basketball, experience with coaching, an outgoing personality, and the ability to work successfully with diverse populations then we would love to have your help!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, helping participants sign in, organizing and leading the practice and helping in any after practice cleaning that may need to take place in the room.

 The schedule is flexible, but we are looking for the volunteer to commit 2-10 hours a week during after school and evening hours. 

Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Reliable, professional and hard working
  • Full of energy
  • Has a passion for teaching
  • Works well with diverse population and will be reliable.
  • Pass initial screening process

 Policies:

Due to the fact that this position is working with children, volunteers need to be willing to undergo a background check and initial screening process. Once they have passed, they will need to complete our Safe from Harm online training within 90 days of starting.

Alcohol, drugs and smoking are not permitted at any The Salvation Army Facilities or volunteer site.

Clothing must be respectful as you will be representing The Salvation Army.
