Christmas Dinner

2014 Check In Table Outside for Meal Drivers

Four volunteers are needed to be Captains in the outside garage, when other Meal Delivery Volunteers arrive to receive maps and names for meal delivery.  These four volunteers will need to be skilled in map reading and know the metro KCMO area well.  Their task will be to give directions to delivery drivers should they have any questions about address locations.

Dress weather appropriate for being in a garage that is open to the outdoor temperatures.  This event is at 101 West Linwood, KCMO  64111.

Volunteers will receive an e-mail or letter of confirmation for this volunteer position.  Please bring printed e-mail or letter with you….it is your ticket to serve!

2014 Coat Checkers

Two volunteers are needed to accept coats from volunteers and put them in the coat closet while the volunteers serve onTuesday, December 25, 2012 from 9 am-1:30 pm at 101 W. Linwood, Kansas City, MO 64111.

2014 Dining Room Clean Up

Twenty volunteers are needed to help with Dining Room Clean Up after the Christmas Dinner on Tuesday December 25, 2012 is over. This includes throwing away plates, napkins, tablecloths, wiping off tables, mopping floors, etc. This is at 101 W. Linwood, KCMO 64111 from 1-3 pm. You will be on your feet the entire time.  Wear appropriate shoes; clothes you will not mind getting food on. Don't forget your letter or e-mail of confirmation...it will be your ticket to serve.

2014 Kitchen Clean Up

Six volunteers are needed to help with kitchen clean up after Christmas Dinner is over on December 25, 2012. This includes putting food away in refrigerators, getting pots and pans ready to wash, wipe off kitchen counters, etc. from 1-3 pm.  You will be on your feet the entire time.  Wear appropriate shoes; clothes you will not mind getting food on. 2014 Trash Pullers

Two volunteers are needed to pull trash and replace trash cans with liners when they get full at 101 W. Linwood, KCMO 64111 on Christmas Day. The time is from 11 am to 2 pm. This should be a tall, strong volunteer.  You will be on your feet most of the time.  Wear appropriate shoes; clothes you will not mind getting food on.  Please bring your letter or e-mail of confirmation...it will be your ticket to serve.

2014 Turkey Deboning

We need 35 turkey carvers to help de-bone turkeys after they are cooked. This is set for Tuesday, December 23, 2014 beginning at 1:00 p.m. You may be on your feet the entire time or sitting.  Wear appropriate shoes; clothes you will not mind getting food on. This will be the only volunteer event in Kansas City where you are asked to bring a sharp knife with you and....You will be allowed to keep it!

Christmas Food Basket Assembly

2014 Potato Bagging

Potato Bagging volunteers will be bagging 5 lb. bags of potatoes for the 5,000 +/- Christmas Food Boxes.  All Potato Bagging Volunteers will be on their feet.  This is not a volunteer opportunity for small children.  Volunteers should be at least 12 years of age.

Ware House setting.  Dress in layers, non slip shoes and work clothes.  We will have rubber gloves, if you desire work gloves, please bring them with you.

Community Service Worker

Support Staff for (almost) any office

These special volunteers come to The Salvation Army as volunteers via the justice system.  Violent crimes, sex crimes, repeated drug offenders, crimes of theft are unable to complete their community service hours with The Salvation Army due to the vulnerable populations we serve. Client safety is a number one priority.  All community service workers MUST make contact with the Volunteer Director before signing up.
