Donut Day Fundraiser
Every year during the summer, The Salvation Army raises funds on Chicagoland's busy street corners. The two-day event is called "Donut Day," in remembrance of World War I, when The Salvation Army distributed hearty donuts and coffee to the exhausted soldiers in the trenches of the battlefields. Funds raised during "Donut Day" support The Salvation Army's many social service programs.
We're looking for positive, upbeat, and engaging people who understand the ministry of The Salvation Army sufficiently to answer articulately the questions of prospective donors. You must be honest and able to work well with others. You must be able to stand for hours at a time.
Volunteers needed May 30th through June 7th.
Alcohol, drugs and smoking are not permitted at any Salvation Army Facilities or volunteer site.
Clothing must be respectful as you will be representing The Salvation Army. Pants and shirts must cover the waistband. Tank tops, undershirts, halter tops, crop tops, spaghetti straps and strapless tops are not permitted. Shirts with print are not to be offensive. Transparent, tight or form fitting clothes are not permitted. Skirt/dresses must not be worn more than two inches above the knee.
