General Volunteer Opportunities


  • ACT

    Advisory Council of Teens - work with librarians in designing programs, assist with collection development, and help expand services to teens in the library. Must be under 18 years of age.

  • Book Buddy

    Deliver materials to home-bound patrons

  • Circulation Tasks

    Pull list, periodicals, route in/outs, misc. circulation taks

  • Literacy Programs

    Tales for Tails Assistant. Help facilitate the T2T program at your local Branch by preparing the program site and acting as an ambassador of the program to participants and other librayr patrons.

     

    Homework Helpers. Work with tutors in providing homework help for local K-12 students. Math skills are a plus.

  • Mending

    Learn to repair books and other library materials.

  • Program Support

    Assist staff in programming in craft preparation

  • Shelving

    Returning library materials to the correct location within the collection.

  • Special Event

    One day event such as a booksale, Battle of the Bands, Festival of the Book, etc.

  • Special Projects

    Work with administrative, programming, or collections team.

  • Technical Services

    Work with librarians in maintaining collections, learn to mend materials, participate in special projects.

  • Working with Children

    Assist librarians during story times by watching the door, interacting with participating families, and clean up.
