Greet guests at front desk, answer phones, take messages and/or direct phone calls, take in donations, provide a donation receipt to the donor upon request, put donations in proper location, assist the Administrative Assistant with mail appeal, stuff envelopes, assist guests utilizing the Iowa Works access point computers and assist with mailings, and other duties as needed in the office.

Must have general knowledge of Cub Scout activities. Must pass background check to work with children; loves working with children.

Wednesday evenings from 4:00 to 7:00pm at 503 Benton Street in Boone.

General cleaning and upkeep of church building and church offices.

Need one volunteer for the Boone offices and one volunteer for the Ames office.

Once or twice a week for a few hours.

 

Mowing yard, raking leaves, picking up trash outside the buildings, removing snow from sidewalks. We will need one volunteer for the Boone offices and one volunteer for the Ames office.

Volunteers work with EDS directors providing services from the canteen such as: serving food and drinks, distributing emergency supplies, etc. This position does require being on an on-call basis and also requires specific EDS training by certified Salvation Army EDS personnel.

Greet guests to our food pantry, provide them with direction on amount of food guest can receive, gathering personal care items, weighing food and carrying bags for guest. 

Volunteer will also stock the food pantry shelves and tidy up the area as needed.

Pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 to 4 and Tuesdays 10-6.

Person who will drive a Corps vehicle to Des Moines twice monthly to pick up food at the Food Bank of Iowa. Food Bank staff will load our vehicle at their site.

Must be able to lift 30 to 50 punds and will unload the vehicle, with assistance, upon return to Corps locations in Boone and/or Ames. Will occassionally pull a trailer.

Must have valid drivers license and pass motor vehicle report request (good driving record)

Customer relation skills required

2 to 3 days per week, must be able lift, bend, stretch, stoop, twist, stand, walk; hours are 9-1 Tuesday through Saturday but can be flexible based on our need.

Background check required.

This person will work closely with the volunteer coordinator and corps officer in recruiting volunteers, both individuals and groups, for various activities. This positions requires basic knowledge of computers and good phone etiquette.

Position is approximately 6 hours per week with flexibility.
