General Volunteer Opportunities

  • Administrative - Organizational and Other
    • Enjoys organizing and filing information
    • Interested in stuffing envelopes for mailings or other such needs
  • Administrative - Research
    • Interested in researching various topics (ie: Grants, venue policies etc)
    • Comfortable compiling and writing up findings in a professional manner
  • Education Programs
    • Attend specific training session
    • Assist Mark Robinson (Education Manager) with tasks as needed
    • Lead activities for children, ages K-9, at a variety of events year round
    • Provide support for Education Department staff by greeting/ushering guests when activity leadership is not required
    • Must be comfortable and enjoy working with children
  • Gallery Assistant
    • Assist guests in the Museum Gallery
    • Provide support for Museum Staff
    • Enforce Museum Policies
    • Answer questions about the grounds, venue and exhibits
  • Harvest, Wine and Other Festivals
    • Greet, assist and direct guests at festival events
    • Interested in community and grassroots events 
  • Musuem Docent
    • Complete a 6 session training course to learn about the main Museum Exhibit and the historical, political and social background of the 1960s
    • Learn a pre-outlined Docent Tour of the main exhibit, and other custom tours and complete several practice tours prior to giving public tours
    • Complete ongoing research projects exploring topics related to the Museum and the 1960s (optional)
    • Share research at monthly Docent Meetings (optional) the second Wednesday of each month
  • Pavilion Concert - Other
    • Comfortable interacting with guests in crowds of varying sizes
    • Can pick and choose which performance/crowd size you volunteer with
    • Able to answer questions about the show, grounds, museum and organization as a whole
    • Suitable for those who may not be able to stay until the end of each performance
  • Pavilion Concerts - Usher
    • Wish to be active in the pavilion seating guests and checking tickets prior to and during the performance
    • Comfortable enforcing varying house rules that may change from performer to performer
    • Able to stay until end of show and to commit to numerous shows
    • Have a team mentality and is willing to assist fellow ushers

Community Outreach

Assist Community Outreach with office tasks (computer experience essential) at the CVI office building in Liberty, NY. Help plan and execute various community programs at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts site in Bethel, NY. Office help needed weekly. Help with events as scheduled.
