Youth Committees

Poirier Teen Committee The City of Coquitlam Parks Recreation and Culture Services is looking for youth (Grade 10-12) who are interested in getting involved in their community and having their voices heard. The Poirier Teen Committee usually meets 1-2 times per month, and focus on issues and activities in and around the facilities. This is a great opportunity to get involved at a neighbourhood level. To kick off the youth committees, build a sense of comradery and cohesion, as well as providing tools for working in a City-based group, Parks, Recreation and Culture Services hosts a Youth Retreat in September each year. The Youth Retreat provides two days of workshops on leadership, teambuilding, developmental assets, local government, personality styles, conflict resolution, youth issues, and goal setting.			1 0

Recreation Assistant - Young Chefs (11-14 yrs) FUNCTION: To provide support and extra direction for participants in programs, and to assist the Program Instructor in the set-up, running and clean up of activities. This is a cooking class for youth.
