This position will require attending training sessions and a full background check. The trained volunteer would assist in some or all of the following activities: Food preparation, food serving from a mobile feeding unit or a fixed feeding site, replenishing
supplies and clean up.
Cashiers are the first and last person our customers see and interact with, so pleasant greetings and a tidy appearance is necessary. They will be expected to assist in all steps of the sales transaction as well as provide good customer service when needed.
The volunteer in this position would be responsible for driving to specific locations to pick up donations, which can include scheduled customer donations, business donations, or food donations. Other responsibilities could include inspection of various
items for condition, handing out donation receipts upon request, and loading/unloading of the moving van. Larger pickups will be done in pairs or trios, depending on the size and suspected weight of a donation. A background check is required, as well as
a driving background check.
Sorting clothing and merchandise, discarding torn and broken items. Tagging items for sale. Provide a valuable service to the community by facilitating our ability to fund community programs and provides valuable job training.
Volunteers will be expected to clean around staff and volunteers adhering to safety measures for such activities. Cleaning can include restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, polishing furniture,
cleaning windows, or handling trash cans.
